Dr. Babak Azad is a GURS fellowship-trained urologist specializing in reconstructive urology.
He completed his medical education at Qazvin University of Medical Sciences in Iran and subsequently pursued a fellowship in robotic and laparoscopic urology at Tufts Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts. Following the completion of his fellowship, he trained in male reconstruction and prosthetics under Dr. Joel Gelman at the University of California, Irvine.
His expertise is especially valuable for patients with lower urinary tract issues, including complex and multiple urethral strictures, urethral disruptions, and bladder neck contractures. Dr. Azad’s comprehensive skill set enables him to address a broad spectrum of urologic conditions, such as male urinary incontinence, genital reconstruction (including cosmetic penile surgery, buried penis, and scrotal lymphangioma), and upper
tract reconstruction.
He works alongside Dr. Raju Thomas, our specialist in upper urinary tract robotic reconstruction, enhancing our ability to provide complete urologic reconstructive care in the Gulf South region.
